30 Seconds to Mars' visual image is quite a dark and 'depressing' one as the band members tend to dress in black in their music videos and on photo shoots.The use of quick cuts is used in most of 30STM's music videos to fit with the pace of the song and beat. Close ups of the band members and lead singer Jared Leto performing helps to create meaning as the audience can see the expressions on their faces, showing how the band feel (e.g. - anger at the ice caps melting)
