Website Analysis


  • Large photo of the band at top of the site wearing appropriate costume from the 'Mona Lisa' music video - shows the bands image
  • Alternative rock/emo band - dark burgundy and black colour scheme.
  • Links to Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, MySpace & Ping. Video from YouTube on website homepage.
  • Rusty yellow, dark red, black - fits with bands image of band - colours of costume and music video fit with colours on website.
  • Very informal written style, short sentences - casual jokey - reinforces the bands laid back, jokey image and style.
  • Panic! At The Disco band name in 'gothic', 'archaic' font - supports the bands image and links well with the time that 'Mona Lisa' is set in.
  • Use of social networking sites - connections with target audience.
  • All adverts on the website are for bands of a similar genre and all signed to the same music label - FueledByRamen


  • Large background image - from new album cover - changes at regular intervals (nature theme), Band name is small in white capitalized font.
  • Small links at the bottom of the page to social networking sites (facebook, twitter etc.)
  • Mainly white and black fonts, washed out background images
  • There are a few sentences from recent blog posts, there is more written content on the website that photographs and video (visual content)
  • Capitalized, block font
  • Its quite hard to tell what the genre of music is from the website, it has an indie look to it, however the band is not indie


  • Large band name at the top of the website in block capitals, which juxtaposes the background making it stand out (blue text on black background) -  Photograph of the band members at very top of site = main focus and the first thing the target audience see when they visit the site
  • Dark blues, black & white - fits the genre of rock/alternative band image
  • Links to Facebook, Twitter,  MySpace, BuzzNet, YouTube & Flickr
  • Dark Colours - fits with both the bands image on and off stage.

  • Capitalised 30STM font used for band name on Albums etc.
  • Appropriate for target audience.
  • Adverts for golden tickets & donate blood
